| Reader Type | WPM | Time for 0 words |
|---|---|---|
| Slow / Technical | 150 | 0 sec |
| Average Adult | 200 | 0 sec |
| Fast Reader | 300 | 0 sec |
| Speed Reader | 450 | 0 sec |
| World Record | 700 | 0 sec |
Formula
Reading Time = Word Count ÷ WPM | Speaking Time = Word Count ÷ 130 | Study Time = Word Count ÷ 100WPM = words per minute — the reader's speed (average adult: 200 WPM)
130 WPM = average speaking pace for presentations and lectures
100 WPM = estimated study speed including note-taking and reflection
Worked Example
